Anyone can

into the Reiki system. Training your ki energy through Reiki therapy helps to alleviate pain, fatigue, stress,
and mental and emotional disorders. Reiki has eased the effects from all types
of illnesses, both acute and chronic. A Reiki treatment will replenish body
energies and restore mental and emotional clarity and focus. Reiki not only
works to rid the body and mind of symptoms of disease, it also treats the root

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a
hands-on healing system of incomparable ease and power. Reiki therapy is
holistic and gentle and is very effective for physical, mental and emotional
healing. Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion. This life
force energy is the source of life itself and far older in concept and fact
than any religious philosophy. To become a Reiki Healer one must be initiated
into the Reiki system by receiving a series of attunements. This attunement
process, or process of initiation is what sets Reiki apart from every other
form of laying on of hands, or touch healing. The attunement creates the
healer. While everything that has life has this life force energy, a Reiki
attunement connects the receiver in an increased way to its limitless source.
Reiki is divided into three degrees.
Reiki I
is the self-healing level. In Reiki I the attunement itself heals physical
level imbalances by revitalizing the body and bringing with it an awareness of
the energetic self.
Reiki II
attunement increases the amount of healing energy and focuses upon emotional,
mental and karmic healing in the person receiving it. In Reiki II, three of
the five Reiki symbols are introduced and used consciously for the first time.
Reiki II also teaches the methods used for performing distance healing. Direct
healings become more powerful as the practitioner works with the new symbols
and the presence of angelic guidance is easily felt.
Reiki
III is the Master/Teacher’s degree and focuses upon spiritual healing. A
Reiki III practitioner’s healing ability is increased with the addition of
the two additional Reiki symbols. Reiki III also teaches the method for
passing attunements. Reiki III is recommended for the serious healer and
anyone who is interested in teaching the Reiki system of healing.

Ki is an electrical type of
energy that creates the body and determines our state of health. Ki is the
essential life force of the planets and stars. These sources of energy
affect the living body's Ki. Reiki enters and moves through the body's
energy channels. By working to expand these Reiki channels, the RJS

abilities. By learning to control the energy flows the RJS
Fitness Hermosa Beach Reiki Master, or healer, becomes a Reiki adept now
able to transmit that energy to others. The transmission of energy is the
Reiki Attunement process.
The Origins of
Reiki
The
Traditional Reiki story begins in Kyoto Japan in the mid 1800’s with Mikao
Usui, a Christian Minister who was asked by his students to be shown the
method by which Jesus performed healing. Mikao Usui began a ten-year quest to
discover and learn the skill. When Christian authorities told him this method
was not discussed or even known, Usui sought the information through Buddhism.
Buddhists Monks told Usui that the ancient spiritual healing methods had been
lost and the only way to approach them was by entering the Buddhists
teachings, the Path to Enlightenment. Having learned to read Sanskrit, Usui
entered a Zen Buddhist monastery and found the ancient sutras describing the
healing formula and discovered how to use the healing system. Usui named this
healing energy “Reiki”, which means universal life force energy. Reiki
energy is described as being pure love, creative intelligence, consciousness,
vital essence and the activating energy of the universe.
